They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, and whether that is true or just something a smart planner made up for the bride with tears in her eyes, we adore rain. It makes for pictures like the very last one here (stunning Kunioo, really). Sunflower Florist gathered up some beautiful blooms and a few good friends and put together a some absolutely gorgeous rainy wedding inspiration!
From the planner… Planning an outdoor wedding in Vancouver, BC without a Plan B is always a risky affair due to the rainforest climate we live in. This style shoot was the perfect example of this. Due to unpredictable weather forecasts we decided to opt for our alternative location and in the end it all turned out even more stunning than we had ever imagined.
This shoot was a collaboration of talented Vancouver vendors to create a simple yet playful approach to an indoor garden setting using a soft but bright colour palette of yellow and lavender and to showcase the chemistry between the couple. Our alternative location: The Secret Garden green house was the perfect setting to reflect the garden theme we were envisioning. Our lemonade stand, that was custom made for this shoot, was the focal point in which every detail originated from.
To create a more causal setting, we decided on a floor length ivory linen with placemats and three floral arrangements complimented with lemons and surrounding tea lights along with a lemonade signature cocktail and striped lavender straws. The calligraphy on the stationery brought in a sense of romance that tied in beautifully with the corset flowing dress the bride wore complemented by stunning sparkles.
Our models, Katie and Ian are newly engaged and were a pleasure to work with. We could not be happier for them and look forward to their upcoming wedding! With their love and playful personalities we were able to capture many gorgeous moments.
This was a fun day full of laughs, fun, romance and delicious sweets; I am so happy with the end result.
