As we send you off into the weekend, it only seems right to leave you with a wedding so pretty, it quite possibly could take you all weekend to devour it. One full of things that leave us gushing time and time again – stripes, peonies, a gorgeous nautical feel – it has literally everything we can’t get enough of at SMP Florida. And it’s all beautifully captured by E. Gilbert Photography – so be sure to set aside this weekend to soak in all the lovely right here.

From the Bride…Just a little background: we met through Chris’s groomsman Tyler who introduced us at Reinhardt my first week of college. We stayed friends for a while because I was dating someone else at the time. But by the time that ended and we decided to finally try and go on our official first date, we both just knew we would be together forever. He took me to Turner Field for my first ever baseball game! We have been together for four years now and visit Disney together at least once a year because we just love it so much! Our inspiration for the wedding came from our one of our trips to Disney. It was my first time staying at the Boardwalk Villas and I instantly fell in love with the area. I knew that if we decided to go the Disney route for the wedding I wanted to get married there. We love Disney but we also wanted something that felt like us. A retro boardwalk theme really clicked with us for the wedding.
I was excited to plan our wedding since I currently work at the Hilton Marietta Hotel as their Business Development Manager working with brides on their rehearsal dinners/ showers and small weddings, so the planning process was really exciting for me. Chris had a BIG part in the planning process as well. He got to put his Graphic Design degree to the test! He designed all of our stationary using Photoshop. We uploaded his designs into vistaprint and ordered everything from them. He designed the invites, brochure we included in our welcome baskets, our programs, and logo stickers, and we also made personalized menus for our welcome dinner we had the night before the wedding. We rented the guys outfits from Savvi. My dress was designed by Martina Liana and I purchased it in Roswell, Georgia at A Formal Affair. We purchased the girls’ dresses there as well. The girls jewelry is Ralph Lauren. My sash was purchased from Glamour House on Etsy. Our shoes were Toms. The guys had Bass sneakers & the dads had Sperry lace ups.
Our floral was done by Disney and so was the food. The violinist at our ceremony was provided by them as well. I worked closely with Rosie our florist. We used a lot of pink Peony, white hydrangea, and white and pink roses to accomplish the look we wanted. We also incorporated old Coke bottles and mason jars as our centerpieces at the reception. To tie in the boardwalk theme we gave guests cinnamon toast popcorn at the ceremony provided by Chris’s brother Andy and his wife Jennifer who have their own business, Cartwright’s Popcorn. We also gave our guests welcome baskets that included vintage Coke bottles, salt water taffy, and pretzels to keep the theme going. Our hair and makeup team came from M3. Our videographer was from Reminisce Productions. Our cake was gluten free and dairy free from Babycakes in Downtown Disney because I have severe allergies to both gluten and dairy.
