I mean, not only does she happen to love the cinematic masterpiece that is known as Father of the Bride (awesome), she and her dapper groom really know how to throw a fabulous wedding. I'm talking mismatched maids meets vineyard elegance meets ice cream truck rather than cake fabulous. It's the kind of wedding that you desperately want to have... and be invited to. Vineyard Wedding from Elle & Be Wedding and Lifestyle Cinematography
From the Bride... We are both very laid back and we knew we wanted a laid back wedding that didn't feel like a big "show." We didn't have a very strict vision or ideas for the wedding but we were inspired by both Sebastian's love of outdoors and my childhood fascination with "Father of the Bride." Accordingly, we were hoping for a backyard wedding but when we couldn't narrow down our guest list lower than 150, we were forced to look for a similar vibe outside of our homes. When we saw Willow Springs for the first time, they had not even dug the grounds for a tent, but still had an intimate and serene feel that we loved. It really felt like someone's home, which happens to have a small vineyard in its backyard! Based on what Willow Springs told us of their vision for the tent, we signed our contract and hoped for the best. We were the first couple to get married in their new tent and it went up the week of our wedding!! Needless to say, we were a little nervous but the tent, food, wine (of course) and the service were all amazing and beyond our expectations!
We didn't have a theme colour and I asked my bridesmaids to wear whatever summery dress they wanted in pastel colours. When they all showed up the day of my wedding, we were all shocked and relieved how well the colours/dresses went together. For consistency, we had Suzie do her magic on all the girls' hairs with flower accents. They wore their accessories and shoes, most of them opting for flats. Sebastian's groomsmen wore their own black suits with white dress shirts and we bought them matching pink chambray bow ties (which we bought the day before the wedding, shipping mix-up! something always happens last minute) and skinny suspenders.
I designed most of the things we used for the wedding and made everything from scratch with the help of our friends and family. So many of our friends and family offered to help and the best thing I did during planning was accepting their help. It created so many warm memories crafting, laughing and chatting, accompanied with lots of takeout food. As backdrop for our 14 people head table, we had nearly two dozens of 36" balloons in pastel colours and gold foil mylar balloons spelling "LOVE". This was my favourite part of the decor and added such whimsy to the atmosphere.
We opted not to have a wedding cake because our dessert course already included great selection of mini cakes, but instead rented an ice cream truck, which was a huge hit! Our friend DJ'ed for us, my mom's friend did the flowers, and our amazing photographers and cinematographers blended in and really felt like a part of our friends.
From Elle & Be Wedding and Lifestyle Cinematography... For Caroline and Sebastian's first look we were taken to a beautiful park nearby Caroline's parent's home, where the couple shared their first kiss! The exact location was in this amazing clearing through a tunnel formed by long reaching red oaks - that moment felt so epic... seeing them come full circle from their first kiss to their first look. Other interesting elements included the couple's Yaris, which was decorated in flowers, creative little drawings and nice messages. To greet their guests at the reception, the couple changed into traditional Korean garments
