Sydney Wedding from Tim Coulson
An Australian wedding is a beautiful thing. A beautiful thing that is always, always chock-full of gorgeous details and heartwarming moments... and seems to leave a smile on your face for what feels like all eternity. And this sweet Sydney affair from Tim Coulson? Well, it's all of the above and then some with a bride and groom who could seriously not be cuter, pretty pink hues and a Q Station backdrop that will literally take your breath away. It's a simple lesson in Australian perfection and you can see it all right here in the full gallery.
From the Bride... Alex and I met through a mutual friend when we were about 19-years-old in the Blue Mountains, where we both grew up, though it wasn't until about five years ago that we made it official. On a round the world holiday in 2012, Alex bravely carried my engagement ring through Peru before choosing the romantic city of Bruges, Belgium, to get down on one knee and propose in front of the fireplace at our guesthouse. Needless to say the rest of the trip was spent on a high! Our wedding day fell on the most glorious sunny Autumn day in Sydney on the 13th of April. In front of 85 of our closest family and friends, we said 'I do' on the heritage wharf at Q Station, North Head.
The reception was held in the Governor Bourke ballroom set up high overlooking the water. I had over the previous year collected some gorgeous cut crystal candlesticks scoured from Ebay and antique shops and found some beautiful lace covered votives to complement the wedding's vintage style. I had a professional rigger hang vintage chandeliers from The Hire End over the dance floor which the florist covered in dodo vine and small posies of white lisianthus. The Hire End also provided the linen covered chairs, drapes, tablecloths and the raw wood dessert table. The Q Station staff said they had never seen the venue look so beautiful and the decor so perfectly suit the room.
Our dessert table was very popular and was completely cleaned out after dinner. It featured a mud cake by Planet Cake, assorted Italian pastries and a few cakes made my mother and I. It was overall an amazing, special and romantic wedding, and most importantly we had so much fun surrounded by our family and friends. It was a night I will remember fondly for the rest of my life.
