Miami Wedding at Villa Woodbine from Michelle March Photography

Winter weddings don’t normally involve sunshine and 70 degree weather. Unless you’re in Miami that is. Then it’s all blue skies, alfresco dining and everyone sporting a gorgeous winter glow as seen through the lens of Michelle March Photography. It almost doesn’t seem fair until you consider that these wintery details can so be crafted into a Spring or Summer affair easy peasy. A pretty, neutral color palette like this is not only timeless but season friendly too. Have a look here for more.

From the Bride… Timeless, romantic, magical. These three words were everything we’d hoped our wedding would be and it was. From the very beginning, Julian and I knew we wanted a Miami winter wedding, which translates to clear skies at 70 degrees, under the moonlight. We wanted an intimate affair with lots of personalized details.

The day began at my now in-laws beautiful home where the boys and girls got ready for the big day, each of us at different quarters of the house. The girls had a busy schedule of hair, make up, and tons of pictures by the incredible Michelle March, while the boys opted for a swim in the lake instead. While Julian and I decided to keep tradition and save our first look for my walk down the aisle, I jumped at the opportunity with my father. I can’t say that I was a nervous bride but this moment along with our drive to the church together were one of the most tranquil moments of the day. Our wedding took place at St. Jude in Downtown Miami and was beautifully officiated by our close family-friend. Surrounded by our loved ones, our God-mother’s placed the “mantilla”, a family heirloom and Spanish tradition, over our shoulders signifying our new unity as husband and wife.

The moment that we laid eyes on Villa Woodbine early on in the planning, we knew that it had to be ours, at least for an evening of celebrating love with our closest family and friends. In the days leading up to the wedding, my sister helped collect pictures of both Julian and my family members on their wedding days. We carefully placed these in the living room where guests would enjoy a drink at the bar upon their arrival at the villa. Out back in the garden, the gorgeous oak tree was covered in the most romantic twinkling lights. Underneath it’s canopy were rows of gorgeously laid out tables full of flowers and candles ready to meet our guests. We could not have asked for a more perfect evening.
