Michigan Wedding from First Comes Love Photo

When I first opened this wedding, I was immediately struck by the stunning flowers. They could literally be a collection of art. In a museum. They are just that good. And as I was able to look past Parsonage Event's masterpiece, I saw a wedding that was sweet, beautiful, and filled with so much love. The credit for that goes straight to the blushing bride and her talented planner, VLD. All in all, the gallery from First Comes Love Photo is top notch, and I can't think of a better place to spend my day.

From the gorgeous bride... Overall, I wanted a simple but elegant wedding. With the help of my wedding planner, we aimed for a theme of "spring" and "whimsical" and incorporated ribbons where we could to help tie the look together. I love color and my wedding planner did such a great job combining different blues and greens and peach/corals in a cohesive way. Besides having all my family and friends in one big party, my favorite parts were the flowers and the speeches our beloved family and friends made. We also had a funny surprise by our guests when a group of friends ended up secretly coordinating with the wedding planner and DJ to play "Gangnam Style" on the dance floor (this is right before the song exploded with popularity!) I was able to join in the silly dancing because my bridesmaids feigned innocence in showing me the video the night before the wedding!

My best advice for brides-to-be would be to really look at what's important to you and adjust your financial investment accordingly. If photos and your dress are high on your priority, maybe you will have to plan to spend less for your flowers or venue. It's really up to you but decide what matters most to you as a couple. And let go of the expectation that this day had to be just perfect! Like planning any other big event, logistics and communication gets tangled and it can be frustrating. But at the end of the day, you get to marry the person you love! Everything else is there to enhance the day. Sift through what you want and what you need and you'll be surprised with what you'd be content with.
