San Francisco Wedding from Liz Lovi Photography

I’ve sung the praises of San Francisco a time or two on SMP California, but I can’t help but keep singing when I see a wedding like this one from Liz Lovi Photography. It has the easy elegance California does oh so well, combined with the rustic charm of the The Log Cabin – making it a sight to be seen from start to finish – and you see all the pretty right here in the full gallery of images.

From the Bride + Groom…As the fog of engagement excitement dissipated, there remained the task of actually planning the wedding.  We knew we wanted to be married in San Francisco and, at the beginning, that was all we knew.  After touring several sites, nothing felt quite right.  We wanted a mix rustic but elegant, and an atmosphere that was uniquely San Francisco.  Following a winding drive through eucalyptus trees of Presidio National Park, we found the Log Cabin.  Originally a social club for non-commissioned military officers, the Log Cabin sits high in the Presidio hills on San Francisco’s northern shore.  With views of both the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Alcatraz and the Transamerica building, it captured the essence of San Francisco that we were looking for.  Once we set the date and venue, everything else fell into place.

When the big day came, we were both nervous but ready for the long wait to finally end.  Surrounded by our best friends and family members, the day of prep was a blast.  In order to minimize picture time after the ceremony, and maximize our time at the cocktail hour, we took our wedding party pictures beforehand.  The Palace of Fine Arts, another San Francisco landmark, provided a beautiful backdrop for these pre-wedding photos.  After a day full of sunshine, the weather decided to turn just as we began walking down the aisle.  My aunt Chris and uncle Ben preformed a beautiful ceremony that, unfortunately, the bridesmaids spent shivering.  Everyone was happy to warm up with cocktails as soon the vows were exchanged.  The father of the bride, maid of honor and best man all gave wonderful toasts that deftly blended humor and heart.  Cake was cut, drinks were had and dancing commenced.  Looking back, the entire day seemed to go by in the blink of an eye.   We are so lucky to have these incredible photos to help bring that wonderful blur into focus.
