Island Park Yacht Club Wedding from CLY Creation

I get to wake up every morning with one assignment; devour gorgeous weddings. It’s a nice way to start the day, particularly when the day starts with a beauty like this Bridgeview Yacht Club wedding captured by our dear friends at CLY Creation. That’s when I wake up thanking my lucky stars I get to share the sweetness with all of you. Because sitting in this gallery are all the things I love so much about weddings – the scenery, the details, and most of all the love – and we get to devour every last bit of it right here.

From the Bride… Mike and I tied the knot on July 31, 2011 at Bridgeview Yacht Club. It was perfect. It was filled with chandeliers and we were able to have the intimate ceremony that we wanted with 350+ guest. I love that our guests overflowed to the stairs and outdoor deck overlooking us as we shared our vows. The aisles were decorated with some diy fabric poms. I’m grateful to my family and friends who spent countless hours cutting and gluing fabric. It took us a long time to finish making these fabric poms but it was completely worth it. I love the simplicity.

I especially love the quirky neighborhood surrounding Bridgeview. We took pictures in front of a ferris wheel and a warehouse. There was even a pick-up truck that I would describe as vintage. Our photographers managed to open the door, direct us in and captured some of our favorite pictures.

I loved my wedding invitations. I addressed each invite in calligraphy. A secret skill I learned in the sixth grade! My escort cards were origami boats with lifesavers and flags. It was another time consuming project! Did I mention that I’m extremely grateful to my family and friends who helped?

I wore two dresses – My wedding dress: I first fell in love with the dress when I was browsing through the Style Me Pretty site. I didn’t think I would be able to find it or afford it. To my surprise, I found it at a Kleinfeld sample sale. It was the first dress that I picked out and it was on sale. My tea ceremony dress: My tea ceremony dress actually belonged to Mike’s mom. She wore it on her wedding day and wanted me to have it. I loved the pink beading. It blended in perfectly with my color scheme.

We’re really fortunate to have such amazing family and friends! Our day of coordinators made sure everything looked “pretty” and ran smoothly. Cheryl even tied bows to seats to reserve the front row. Our groomsmen (Mike’s brother in-law) doubled as our DJ. Our friend Christina Tsuei put our story on video. We played it during our ceremony.
