A winery wedding in San Francisco? It doesn’t get much better than that. Unless of course you are this Bride and just layer on the lovely on top of the winery goodness with DIY and loads of style. The result was simply beyond, and with Violetta’s Flowers, One True Love and Aaron Hartselle Creative adding the pretty to those layers, this gallery from Sonya Yruel Photography is a must see for sure. See it all here.
From the Bride…We met through our friends several years ago and at the time never would have guessed that one day we would end up falling in love and marrying each other…Kyle grew up in California and Jaci was born and raised in Indiana so the chances were slim that we would ever have met by accident. Luckily, Kyle and one of his childhood best friends, Philippe, happened to attend the same party one night that Jaci’s childhood best friend, Emily, was at and the magic happened! The magic between Philippe and Emily, that is. They have been together for the last eight years! When we met, we were both dating other people and it wasn’t until years later that we found each other both single at the same time in San Francisco. Luckily, we were in the right place at the right time and a friendship grew to love! We have been together for almost 3 years now and can’t believe how lucky we are to have found each other. Marrying your best friend is a pretty fantastic way to spend the rest of your life!
Bouquet:
My bridal bouquet was so special to me! It was a truly a handmade work of art by Amanda Heer (Fantasy Florals) and was made up of over 85 brooches, charms, and jewelry from our family and friends. We had beautiful pieces from both grandmothers jewelry collections with over 30 pieces from my late grandmother, Eydth, who was known for her impeccable style and grace. One very special piece was a football charm from Kyle’s great, great, grandfather. Another important piece was from my friend, Krista, who gave us her late mother’s brooch to complete the bouquet. We will keep the bouquet forever and plan to give it to our future children and nieces to use someday.
Wedding Day:
Our wedding weekend was perfect! We had friends and family fly in from all over the United States and Canada to join us on our special day. Festivities started on Thursday and continued until Sunday afternoon. On the big day, Jaci celebrated in a hotel suite with her bridesmaids for a day of beauty and champagne and Kyle enjoyed time with his groomsmen in his parent’s suite. We had our first look before the ceremony at a secluded spot along the San Francisco Bay and couldn’t have asked for better weather or ambiance! Kyle’s dad married us in front of our families and closest friends and then we had cocktails, dinner, and a night of dancing at The Winery SF! We cherished every moment of our big day and then flew to Kauai to honeymoon! It was the event of a lifetime!
DIY:
Our wedding theme was California Vintage and was all about wine, natural elements, and fun! We had the help of a fantastic wedding planner, Aaron Hartselle, an amazing graphic art designer, Emily Larson (also Jaci’s best friend), and the very talented florist, Arlene Boyle in making our big day come to life! We gave each of them our overall theme/ideas and they ran with it. Aaron created a gorgeous rustic California space with Arlene’s florist skills that felt beautiful, romantic, and simple. Arlene also supplied us with lanterns, vintage doors, wine crates, and antique bottles that pulled the whole theme together perfectly. Emily did all of our paper supplies from the Save the Dates and Invitations to the Menu Bands, Escort Cards, Programs and so much more!
We also had so much fun hitting up the famous Alameda Antiques Fair each month where we found great antique frames, chalkboards, vintage banners, and more! Pinterest was a huge help for us but thanks to the help of our dream team, we were able to enjoy the wedding planning process with almost zero stress. In fact, we were blown away with how amazing it all looked when we walked into the Winery on our wedding day. We had given Aaron and Arlene full reins to do whatever they envisioned and didn’t even know what flowers were going to be used so it was all just a wonderful surprise!
Advice:
Our advice would be to focus on having fun with your wedding planning! This is a once-in-a-lifetime event and we had such a blast planning it. We hired the right people, who cared about us and not only made our vision come to life but they also helped us stay on budget. I would also recommend staying organized by using a Time and Action Timeline so that the little details don’t seem so intimidating. Best tip, I got was to just enjoy every minute of it!
