I have a serious soft spot in my heart for winter weddings. The glamour, the sparkle and the endless amounts of elegance get me weak at the knees faster than you can say “fairytale romance.” And with a slew of sweet details planned out by XOXO BRIDE plus the dreamiest Vera Wang gown you ever did see, this Santa Barbara beauty shot by Braedon Flynn just may make its way onto your favorites list forever.
From XOXO Bride…Our sweet couple had an affinity for law with Jason being an Attorney, so couldn’t imagine hosting their ceremony anywhere but the Santa Barbara Courthouse. The depth and texture of the historical features of the Mural Room inspired their venue of the old Granada Theater which hosted it’s own rich architecture. The bride stopped the show in her Vera Wang gown. Her shoes by Christian Louboutin fit this unique wedding to a tee, capturing the attention of all. Our groom strutted the aisle in a Ermenegildo Zegna suit and tie, with shoes by Hugo Boss. Blooms by Camille of Modern Day Design captured the understated elegance we were looking for in their theme of a winter wonderland and richly enhanced the space. The bride, with all of her talents, painted the wedding guest book tree as well as the cake toppers. To die for! The mad skills of Braedon Flynn keeps us coming back for more every time. He’s eye for the gorgeousness and attention to detail helped capture this Box Office Love!
From The Bride…Jason and I have been together for almost four years, but we met six years ago. There was always that attraction/spark between us, but the distance of living in different states made it tough. We kept in touch for awhile, but we kind of lost contact – I being in college and Jason starting his career as an attorney at that time. We reconnected about 2 years later, and I instantly remembered why we had that initial strong chemistry a few years back. Jason is the funniest guy I know, where I can’t breathe because I am laughing so hard. I love that he is so intelligent and so passionate about everything he does. He always wants to help out his/my family, friends, and strangers. Not only is he so smart, but he also is extremely handy! The guy can do and fix anything. I love his huge heart and he makes me feel safe and anything is attainable!
I’ve always dreamed of a winter wedding. We instantly knew our venues as soon as we spotted them. Our ceremony took place in the SB County Courthose Mural Room – the room was just fabulous and gorgeous, and it was meaningful that Jason was able to have a venue that he was so familiar with because of work. The Granada Theatre was just absolutely perfect and everything I imagined. I am a project manager for a construction firm, so I really appreciate great architecture/construction. The theatre is so glamourous/beautiful literally down to every detail. Jason is also a history maniac, so it was great celebrating our marriage in two places with a ton of history and character.
I’ve always loved the look of all white, so selecting just white flowers was easy. My inspiration played from what I would think a Winter Wonderland would be. I also have always loved the color gold… I just wanted a simple/classy kind of glammed look. The theatre alone was gorgeous, so we didn’t have to do much. I tried to incoropate little personalized things here and there. I am a artsy person at heart – I painted our Wedding Guestbook Tree and our Cake Toppers. They both are displayed in our house and makes us smile every time we see them.
My favorite moment was hearing Jason’s vows to me – I felt like we were the only two people in this world. He is my everything and hearing those special words just meant the world to me. My father’s speech also topped my favorite moments – my father had a stroke several years back, so something he lost was his English (he used to speak very well). He was hesitant about speaking at the wedding because of his now broken English, but he surprised us and did a beautiful perfect speech! I’d have to say the best thing for us was just having all our best friends and family there. It was such a weird date for many people due to the holidays, but we actually had a surprising turnout. I’d say only 15% of our invites didn’t make it, so it just melted our hearts to see all our best friends/family travel far to celebrate with us. – I even had family from Korea come, haha.
