Maravilla Gardens Wedding from Alders Photography

Now that I’ve been swimming in the gorgeousness of SMP for a few years now, people always ask if I would change anything about my wedding. My answer is always no, BUT I would love to just throw another wedding (to the same handsome groom, of course). And that second wedding to the same groom? It would look similar to this gorgeous Maravilla Gardens wedding snapped up by Alders Photography. With the perfect light and a fabulous al fresco feel, this Bride and Groom got it oh-so-right. See all the gorgeous here.

From the Bride… We met in the box seats at a hockey game in Los Angeles. Tom proposed to me in South  Africa. We were at a winery and he took me down into the vineyards, set up a self timer on the camera, ran over and proposed!

For our wedding, we wanted an all outdoor venue that resembled where we got engaged. We loved the farmland, open land and vineyards in the area. We also wanted a relaxed picnic theme and Maravilla Gardens had that. Our plan was to include the traditions of both our backgrounds, mine from California and Tom’s from England.

My godfather officiated and two friends of ours did readings at the ceremony. We got married in the California sunshine and catered with all local ingredients, including local pies from a farmer’s market. We then had croquet and scones for an English touch. Our color palette included white, yellow and green.

One of the my best memories of the day was when I first saw Tom at the end of the aisle, looking at me. I thought I was going to cry. It became really real at that moment. Tom and I were especially amazed at how quickly our two families and two groups of friends came together. By the end of the night, we were one big happy family!

Our advice to future brides and grooms would be to give yourself enough time to plan… so that you can enjoy it and not get overwhelmed. Also, no matter how small your budget is, get a day-of-coordinator… It makes all the difference!
