Nantucket Wedding from Soiree Floral and Zofia & Co. Photography

Do you know the exact moment I knew I was going to love this wedding?  It was the very second I spotted this gorgeous bride’s bouquet.  A bouquet, mind you, that was expertly crafted by Soiree Floral (oh, do they know beautiful blooms) and is bursting with peonies and a coral hue that is all kinds of crazy amazing.  (It’s jaw-droppingly gorgeous, people.)  And the bride and groom’s sweet Nantucket wedding captured by Zofia & Co. Photography?  Just as stunning, with classic meets nautical stylings dotting every inch of space.  Don’t miss a minute in the full gallery.

From the Bride… Peter and I met in 2006 — we worked together on a Wall Street trading desk in New York City. About 3 months after our first official date, Peter took me to his favorite place in the world — Nantucket. He had been spending summers on Nantucket for about 10 years, and after my first day there I was completely smitten with the island myself. Fast forward five years to October 2011, and Peter was down on one knee at sunset on Madaket beach. By that time we had a home of our own on Nantucket, and we quickly decided there was nowhere else in the world we would rather be married. We immediately began planning a Nantucket wedding for June 2012.

We wanted our wedding to have a more modern, streamlined feel than the typical Nantucket wedding. This made flowers and decor much more important than I originally anticipated. By working with Dawn at Soiree Floral, I quickly learned that an awesome florist can tie all of the details together, creating exactly the vibe a bride wants for the entire day. We favored mostly whites and grays with bold pops of a monochromatic accent color (coral). By doing this, we were able to keep the understated chic we love about Nantucket while still making the day feel like us.

I always knew that an excellent photographer was at the top of my vendor priority list; when I found out Zofia was available I booked her immediately and never looked back. The engagement session we did a month before the wedding was critical — it helped Zofia get to know us and it helped us get comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. We now have a gorgeous wedding album full of images we absolutely love and will cherish forever.

At the end of the day, we just wanted the party to rock. Boston-based First Class Band had everyone on their feet for five straight hours with an impeccable mix of jazzy r&b, Motown and contemporary music. Stephen Creese and his staff at Great Harbor Yacht Club were flawless — completely professional and remarkably accommodating.

Thanks to the hard work of our wonderful vendors, our wedding day was absolutely perfect in every way we hoped it would be.
