From the Bride...Joey and I first met in ninth grade summer school in June 2001. You could tell that we both had a mutual “puppy love” attraction to one another. Unfortunately, we didn’t see each other again after summer school was over. Seven years passed, and as fate would have it, we bumped into each other at the bank I was working at. He immediately asked for my number and we went on our first date not long after. After a nice evening with champagne, wonderful food, and our first kiss, we both fell in love and four years later Joey proposed! Throughout the past 4 1/12 years, Joey and I have shared so many special memories at our home in Old Agoura. Not only did we have our own memories of horse back riding, hiking with our dogs, playing in the park, remodeling the backyard, watching the sunset, but his parents also got married in the same backyard thirty years ago.

So, in our minds and hearts, we knew that choosing for our wedding was simple. Not only did it fit our desire of having a rustic yet elegant wedding, but it was home. And, as the very true saying goes…”there is no place like home!”  Our desire was that our guests would enjoy the beautiful home that we shared together and getting to know us as a couple.

When it comes to choosing our style, I have always been attracted to the rustic whimsical theme, incorporating the elegance of crystal chandeliers, crisp white linens with burlap, and soft romantic lighting. What better location to put our vision into action than in our very own yard. I am so thankful that I met such a talented photographer who captured all the details we envisioned. Not only is Katie Shuler talented, but her attention to detail transpires in her work. Her love for her husband, family, their animals, and passion for life makes her the perfect photographer for paying attention to all emotional moments.

I also could not have planned this wedding without the help of my wonderful husband transforming our two acres into a beautiful park haven! He was able to build a beautiful white picket horse arena and finish all the landscaping just six months before the big day! Most importantly, Joey and I could not have done this without my parents hosting the most memorable day of our dreams.

March 30th is a day that we will hold a special place in our hearts. It is a day of cherished details, our loving family, friends, and neighbors, our beautiful home, and most importantly of the love Joey and I will share forever.
