From the Bride...Josh and I are high school sweethearts, so our wedding was about 9 years in the making and much anticipated by our family, friends and of course, ourselves. I had never given much thought about what type of wedding I wanted and as a consequence mulled over everything and felt even more pressure, as I’m an event manager everyone thought organising a wedding would be a cinch! But, once we decided on a colour scheme everything quickly fell into place.

A big part of our wedding was finding the right balance between two very different cultures, Josh is Assyrian and I am Malaysian-Chinese and each culture brought its own unique wedding traditions. We were married in a traditional Assyrian church and then went back to my childhood home for a simplified version of the Chinese tea ceremony to pay respect to my side of the family, many of whom had travelled from Malaysia for the wedding. The reception was the epitome of an Assyrian reception with dancing, singing, dancing, colour and of course more dancing!

We were incredibly lucky with how the day panned out, apart from being a very humid October day (where the groomsmen gallantly gave up their air-conditioned car to the bridesmaids, whos car’s air-conditioning was playing up) we had no hiccups, minor or major! All our suppliers were amazing to deal with in the lead up to the wedding and delivered superb service on the day of our wedding. And of course our bridal party, family and friends made it a day to remember forever.
