A Downtown Champaign, Illinois Wedding from Jasmine Nicole Photography

If I've learned anything in my days here at SMP, it's that you Illinois bride and grooms really know how to throw a wedding.  From the traditional stunners to the backyard sweeties (and everything in between), you have lovely soirees down to an absolute science.  So, it's no surprise that this darling day captured by Jasmine Nicole is basically the epitome of pretty.  It's Downton Abbey meets Anne of Green Gables (the bride's perfect theme) meets all kinds of happy... and it's making for one uber-glorious gallery.  Join me there for every last ounce of lovely.

From Jasmine Nicole... The theme I kept going back to for our wedding look was an antique garden party, like a combination of Downton Abbey and Anne of Green Gables. My mom has always decorated with old trunks and lace tablecloths, and I loved the combination of romance and simplicity. When I found my dress, the theme of the wedding took even more of a shape - the lace felt so feminine and classic but still fresh and modern. I tried to keep the theme in mind when we chose venues- the older, the better! For the decor, I borrowed a lot of antiques from my aunts and other family members. It was so fun to have those personal pieces throughout the whole day. I even got to wear the same brooches in my hair that my grandma wore for her wedding day! In the months leading up to the wedding, we gathered cut glass pieces from thrift shops and estate sales to hold tea lights. For the flowers, I wanted them to look as though I had just found them in the garden - I based the wedding colors off of lavender and sage hydrangeas. We were thrilled with how the look came together! It really fit who we are as a couple.
