Styled shoots make my heart sing. They’re a fantasy land for wedding lovers and inspire events of all shapes and sizes. Take this spring-inspired shoot, for example. It’s a gussied up approach to an al fresco fête put together by Jen Dillender, Embellished Weddings and Birdie. With endless pretty and details for days, it’s just what we need to pep up a mid-morning Tuesday. Let’s swoon our sweet little hearts out, shall we?
From Jen Dillender Photography…After a very long, and cold winter, I am beyond excited to share with you these warm, sunny images from our spring inspired styled shoot! In Oklahoma, we typically see a lot of rustic, barn weddings, but as a photographer, I was looking to do something a little different with this shoot. With the help of Amanda and Whitney at Embellished Weddings, I designed an elegant, outdoor set up at a private residence using a muted palette of soft pinks and greens while adding in some golden glamour and a pop of navy. This was the perfect way to get inspired for the upcoming wedding season! I took on several DIY projects to achieve the look I was going for–the hanging pennant banners, the navy napkins, the southern-inspired mint bow ties, and the place cards. We also employed a talented group of vendors from the OKC area to help bring my vision to life. The florals, done by Birdie in Norman, OK definitely took centerstage! She created a beautiful flower crown for our stunning bride to wear along with a gorgeous bouquet and various centerpieces. We let the flowers do the decorating for us. You’ll see touches of gold throughout the images as well, from the gold plated flatware to our pretty teacup of glitter. I squealed all of the way through the shoot for obvious reasons. However, my most favorite element was our engaged couple, Emily and Freddie. Emily is a talented wedding photographer and she’s set to marry Freddie this summer. I couldn’t have asked for better subjects to photograph. Their affection for one another was the perfect addition to this shoot. Emily was absolutely radiant that day!
