San Diego Wedding from Viera Photographics

You know when you log onto your computer first thing in the morning, and you’re kind of in a haze waiting for that coffee to kick in? I’m about to knock you right out of it. Because I have a wedding from Viera Photographics +Thomas Bui Lifestyle that is just going to make you smile. It’s going to brighten your day nice and early. It’s the perfect amount of quirk, with just enough chic, and a love so big, well, I already warned you. It’s one that’s going to make you smile.

From the photographer… Meaghann and Darren put a lot of thought into their wedding day. Darren is deploying soon with the Navy, so they wanted to make sure that the last get-together with friends and family (including the rest of his unit) before the departure was all about having fun and a good time.

Travel was a huge theme for the day. The reception was held at the Moniker Warehouse in downtown San Diego (a relatively new venue for weddings). Blues, purples, and reds, the warehouse was transformed into a journey around the world. From India, to Japan, and back to the Southern states, guests were fed buffet style a long list of yummy food such as rice balls, naan, mac n’ cheese, sushi, pasta, veggies, and Indian curries. As the bride put it; We’re a tad odd….they guests are going to be competing for who goes first in the buffet, it should be pretty funny.

To tie in Darren’s Navy commitment, the bride and groom walked down the aisle together out of the church to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song, “Skull and Crossbones”. Even her funky shoes had skulls on them!

Fromt he beautiful bride… I think the day was just perfect. We wanted it to be fun and all about bring family and friends together. For us, since Darren is deploying so soon, it was extremely important that everyone was able to have fun. It was the last get together for his unit and the families before the deployment. For the food we really wanted as much flavor and as many options as possible. Darren and I are both world travelers so we wanted to bring that to our guests. The decor was so much fun. We said we wanted it to be a mixture of industrial, modern and quirky. I was soooo happy with how it turned out. It really was our perfect day!
