As a relatively new transplant to the mid-Atlantic, I've fallen hard and fast for the amazing East Coast beaches. One of my absolute favorites? Virginia Beach. This gorgeous ocean front locale has it all when it comes to wedding + honeymoon destination - from being home to million and one gorgeous venues and boasting a laundry list of outdoor activities, to the totally relaxed beach-side vibe. And as the only beach on the East Coast that allows you to pick the exact sandy spot where you'll say "I do," as well as giving couples free reign to set up ceremony details such as arches, seating and sound systems (all you need is a Beach Wedding Permit - apply here!), Virginia Beach is the ultimate beach destination.

With 38-miles of waterfront property, perfectly quaint boardwalk and a total of 17-miles of beaches that are open to the public- from the Resort Area to the Chesapeake Bay Beach (aka Chick's Beach) to Sandbridge - you'll undoubtedly find your dream venue in Virginia Beach. From more traditional spots such as the Cavalier Hotel (this gem opened in 1927!) and The Founders Inn (think grand Georgian architecture and English gardens) to non-traditional locales such as the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (the perfect backdrop for a modern wedding) and the Military Aviation Museum (this beauty holds the largest private collection of vintage military airplanes in the world!), Virginia Beach has you covered on the venue front.
