Laurentian Mountains Wedding from Blushing Bride Studio

Now that we have passed the unofficial start of summer (Memorial Day Weekend) I've been craving weddings like this. Waterside, outdoors, with so much sunshine and a love that only intensifies in the summertime heat. This is the most wonderful time of the year for a reason, and Blushing Bride Studio knows it. They captured this wedding so beautifully, it's overfilling into a gallery so, so pretty.

From the beautiful bride ... Since we had heard that weddings go by so quickly, we wanted to make it a weekend event outside Montreal so that we could make this magical moment last longer and spend more time with our guests. Since we both love the countryside, we decided to get married at my parents country house by a lake in the Laurentians. It was a gorgeous and very unique location, but involved a lot of logistics and planning since everything had to be done from scratch!

The ceremony took place in a cute little wooden church. The guests were then transported to the celebration by boat where our favourite drinks and refreshments were served. Cocktail was outside on the lawn by the lake (we got so lucky with the weather!), dinner inside the house and the party in the barn! Inspired by many blogs, such as SMP, I opted for a romantic rustic elegance theme in white, flax and soft aqua colours.

We organized activities the morning of the wedding that reflected our passions: rugby with my husband and yoga with me. These moments were, for each us, so blissful since it gave us the opportunity to relax, ground ourselves and share some precious time with our best friends before the big event. We hired someone to coordinate the logistics the weekend of the wedding but ended up not having the wedding planner that we wanted since we took ourselves too late. The amplitude of this event was quite overwhelming for the coordinator, given her lack of experience, and some little things did not work as planned. Having an experienced wedding planner is a must if you want to enjoy it all so the best tip I can give to future brides is to invest in a good one! Although I could not have dreamed of a sweeter and more beautiful wedding, the organization had been tough at times, very long hours and I was conscious of the little details that did not work during the event. It was only at the party stage that I completely let go. So future brides, don't think about the little details (that most guests don't notice anyways!) and enjoy every moment of it to the maximum because even a weekend wedding goes by in flash!
