Hair inspiration is one of those things we can never get enough of. And when we’re talking wedding hair? Let’s just say we could go on for hours. So the minute Cecelina Photography and The Vintage Floral Design Co. sent us this hair flower how-to, we jumped at the chance to share the goods. With all the tips and tricks below, you can think of this as your go-to guide for rocking bloomage on your wedding day. (Oh, and be sure to scroll on down for this week’s lucky winners!)
Whether it’s a single statement bloom or a bold cluster of them, used creatively, fresh flowers are the ultimate finishing touch to your chosen hairstyle. Here are a few golden rules and useful tips to help you get the most out of hair flowers on your wedding day:
-Make it possible for your hair stylist to liaise with your florist so that your expectations can be met perfectly.
-Keep your hair flowers in a fridge or cool place for as long as you can before use and insert them only just before you are ready to depart for the ceremony.
-Simple hairstyles are most suited to large single blooms or arrangements, while intricate styles are best accented with smaller flowers or clusters.
-Opt for resilient flowers that will last all day long. The best choices are chrysanthemums, roses, carnations, daisies, freesias, orchids, gypsophila, wax flower, stephanotis and lilies (just remember to remove the pollen-covered anthers from the stamens).
