From the Bride...We were married in Melbourne, Australia on the first of December 2012 at the Littlejohn Chapel at Scotch College in Hawthorn. The school is embedded within family history as my brother, father and uncle attended and my husband, his brother, his father, uncles and grandfather also attended. After being together for 6.5 years it was a long awaited day by friends and family. It was a gorgeous warm day with the sun streaming through the chapels stained glass windows. The organist played the Forest Gump theme by Alan Silvestri when I walked down the isle. The rest of the ceremony was a blur! Apparently there were lots of tears all 'round. After the ceremony the group gathered on the steps for a photo, the sun was still shining brightly but I felt a raindrop or two. After some family photos the sky turned a dark grey and storm set in...just in time for photos. It cleared up as soon as we were done with photos and returned to a warm night. Guests headed down to the reception venue, Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, just 500 metres down the road. We arrived shortly after, beginning the night with our first dance to Etta James, At Last. I was so excited to see the venue decorated exactly how I'd imagined and planned for so many months. A DIY wedding in every sense, I'd made ribbon walls, cross stitched table numbers, doily table runner, embroidery hoop decorations, menu's, lolly bar, etc. My husband and I handmade all 150 bonboniere which were dukkah with a name tag tied on. I'd been stitching, crafting and collecting for months. Guests were entertained with a 4 piece band and there was a Photobooth which got a good workout. Each and every person said they had such a great night and we were so happy everyone enjoyed themselves.
