From Shannon Gail Weddings... As I cozy up with a cup of hot coffee and look outside at the frosted ground, I can't help but reminisce about some of my very favorite weddings of 2012, and this is certainly a hard one to beat. Al and Colleen asked me to plan and attend their Turks and Caicos wedding this past July and I was beyond thrilled. One of the challenges that Brides face in planning a destination wedding is that many resorts offer all-inclusive wedding packages where your control over colors, design, etc. is very limited. For most, the idea of a wedding that looks exactly like another is less than enticing. The trick is to utilize what the resort is offering and find ways to add in your own personality and style.
My first task was working with the resort to bend the rules a bit so that we could fly in our own photographer and boy am I glad we did, because these photos are breathtaking! Every last detail was flown in with our luggage; from over sized pomanders to custom paper products, homemade favors, and our own ring bearer pillow, we had it all. Guests were entertained throughout dinner with live calypso music and fire dancers before dancing the night away quite literally under the stars. We capped the night off with all of the guests together on the beach lighting and sending lanterns into the sky along with our wishes for a long and healthy marriage. It was every bit perfection.
