You know how I knew I was going to love every last second of this sweet Amherst wedding? Three words: The Red Barn. A seriously gorgeous locale more than perfect for rustic meets elegant partying and saying “I do” under a sea of towering trees. And this adorable duo? Well, they also happen to make loving this wedding easy, with their cute-as-can-be proposal story (must.read.below) and their smiling faces dotting every last moment captured by Kelly Prizel Photography. See them all in the full gallery.
From Kelly Prizel Photography… How do you plan a wedding that lives up to one of the most amazing back stories ever? Erin and Chris met at a family function because their parents were old friends, and it was clear that they were meant to be. When the time was right, Chris knew exactly how to propose. Avid marathon runners, Chris and Erin decided to run in the New York City marathon together. When he got to the end of the race, he begged the marathon officials to let him wait for his girlfriend. With much cajoling, they said yes, and when Erin finished the race, Chris was at the finish-line on one knee. Erin thought he was hurt, but caught on soon enough!
Chris and Erin wanted a wedding that was about friends and family and all the things they held dear. The Red Barn in Amherst, MA was a perfect location combining stunning outdoor scenery (check out that epic tree from which they hung glass bubbles) and a rustic indoor space for dancing. The details couldn’t have been more personal; Erin and Chris used their racing bibs from various marathons they had run together as table numbers and the place cards told their guests that in lieu of favors, a donation was being made to the Humane Society in honor of their cats.
Favorite things about the day: the bride taking a pre-wedding shot with her bridesmaids, the groom’s tears during the ceremony, the couple picking flowers together and then their fierce moves on the dance floor. Also, Erin and Chris are possibly the nicest, most generous people you will ever meet, and I’m lucky to call them friends.
