Summer Camp Wedding in Ontario from Jenn + Dave Stark Photographers
A summer camp wedding? Simply genius. Can you even imagine the amount of fun this adorable couple and their guests had throughout this detail-filled weekend? I mean, the wedding party arrived on canoes and everyone slept in cabins - does it get any cuter? I only wish I pulled an invite! From Jenn and Dave Stark... So, where to begin to tell you about Kass + Matt's wedding day? They rented a summer camp for the weekend in the wilderness of Algonquin Park (just north of Toronto, Canada) and invited everyone they love to come spend the weekend around campfires, swimming in the lake, sleeping in cabins, and celebrating them getting married on the Saturday of the weekend. The camp is only accessible by boat, so on Friday everyone (including us) took turns boating in, and eating a welcome meal. The actual wedding day was filled with preparations (everyone pitched in), swimming in the lake, and getting ready for a sunset ceremony on a dock by the lake. The wedding party arrived to the ceremony in canoes, and as Kass comes from a Ukrainian background, we enjoyed watching many lovely traditions incorporated into the ceremony, such as the floral crowns and the traditional Ukrainian cake, baked and decorated by Kass' aunts.
When I look back on these images I'm just filled with a lot of love I remember from that day-- this sense that the two of them really did everything their way. I remember chatting with Kass the morning of the wedding, remember her big smile looking around as everyone was relaxed and enjoying themselves in the sun and she told me that this weekend was really her idea of a perfect weekend. She said that it was really just the icing on the cake that she and Matt would be getting married as well!
This venue is actually where the classic Canadian 1980's film 'Indian Summer' was filmed, based on the true story of Camp Tamakwa, also one of Kass & Matt's favourite movies. It is a pretty awesome movie -- think Breakfast Club but outdoors!
