Midtown Manhattan Wedding from Trent Bailey Photography

New York City weddings.  Four words that conjure up images of bow-tied grooms, breathtaking cathedrals and ballroom receptions chock-full of glamour.  Yep… when I think classic, stop-you-in-your-tracks weddings, I think NYC.  Which is why my heart beat just a little bit faster (okay, a lot faster) when I first laid eyes on this beautiful day from the ever-amazing Trent Bailey Photography.  The true definition of a traditional stunner, it’s all of the aforementioned (hello, New York Palace Hotel) with a big ol’ dose of take your breath away pretty.  See it all in the full gallery.

From the Bride… I have two moments from my wedding day that really stand out as being the most memorable. Walking down the aisle was very emotional and meaningful for me. While the church was filled with people and gorgeous flowers, we could only see each other. I felt so connected to him at that moment- it was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before- I hope I never forget how it felt to see him for the first time that day.

My second favorite part of the day was our entrance into the reception. As we walked in, all of our guests were already dancing and packed on the dance floor. As we walked in, we were literally surrounded by all of our favorite people, clapping and cheering for us. It was such an adrenaline rush– it reminded us of how blessed we are to have so many people who love and support us. It also set the mood for what turned out to be an amazing party!

The cliche saying that “everything happens for a reason” rang true on our wedding day. About two months before the big day, I received a call from the New York Palace that the entire building and courtyard would be covered in scaffolding on the day of the wedding. For those of you familiar with the NY Palace Hotel, you know that the most beautiful part of the venue is the facade of the building and the gorgeous courtyard- those are two of the main reasons I booked that venue- very iconic New York. So, to say that I was devastated when I learned of the scaffolding is an understatement. I frantically tried to find a different venue– to no avail. Turns out, the scaffolding was the biggest blessing! Between my amazing florist and the event planner at the Palace, we were able to transform the courtyard into the most beautiful, intimate, and magical space. It was truly like a dream- no one even noticed the scaffolding and some of my guests thought I did it on purpose!! The images from the courtyard are some of my favorites!!
