I 100% admit that I have a major girl crush on Molly Sims. She’s just too cool and down to earth not to completely adore. And then her wedding to Scott came along and it sent that crush into overdrive; embarrassingly so. But I’m pretty sure once you have some time to really pore through the whole affair you’ll understand. It’s in its very own category of wedding; let’s call it glamour garden kicked up a few notches with the help of some great talents and the beauty of Gia Canali’s images. We also have the rehearsal dinner and part I of this shindig as well as the full gallery to get completely lost in for the day.
SMP: What was the inspiration behind your Bridesmaids’ dresses?
The color palette was a mix of beige, bone, hints of pink, and touches of black. Elizabeth Kennedy made all the bridesmaid dresses. They (both the dresses and the girls) looked gorgeous!
SMP: What was your absolute favorite moment of the day?
Our kiss! And right before the pictures, we had a private moment on the dock by the pond, just us.
SMP: Any advice for future Brides?
Take time to have a private moment with each other after you are married. Have one drink together and just take it all in. You won’t regret it!
SMP: What was your color inspiration for your wedding?
The only pop of color was the flowers used for the centerpieces and in the bouquets. My flowers were gorgeous English garden roses in the perfect salmon color.
SMP: Any special touches added to the reception that you just LOVED?
At the reception we had one long 80-foot table and several smaller tables scattered around. Each table had different, single-colored floral arrangements on them.(Kimm at the Velvet Garden is so good!!)
We had old vintage furniture surrounding a wood dance floor. When it was time for the cake, we opted for red velvet, made from my grandma’s own recipe! I couldn’t have been happier. It was so elegant! … Even when the best man’s jacket caught on fire during his speech!!
A bit more great advice from the gorgeous Bride:
During the reception, be sure to go around to each table and tell your guests how much you appreciate them being there. Making that effort goes a long way and it means so much to the people who have come to celebrate with you.
And last, but certainly not least, ENJOY! ENJOY! ENJOY the day! Don’t sweat the small stuff! You won’t remember those things anyway!
From Stefanie Cove… Molly’s amazing spirit and pure, genuine excitement throughout the entire planning process truly made this collaboration an absolute joy. From the first site visit until the wedding day, we enjoyed every step of the way. Every detail was carefully thought out and had a special meaning to Molly and Scott…whether it was incorporating Molly’s mother’s red velvet cake recipe to the specific songs played throughout the dinner.
Working with Scott was great, too. His two priorities were having comfortable seating (we made sure to test out the chairs together!) and that there would never, ever be a line at the bars.
For even more gorgeous imagery check out Gia Canali’s blog here and a big, huge thank you to Molly and Scott for letting us delve into your big day. Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness xoxo
