On its own, the wedding of Molly Sims and her love Scott Stuber is pure beauty, no doubt about it. But, when you add in the fact that it’s sprinkled with the prettiest of touches like a lace dream of a dress and a waterfront ceremony spot dripping in flowers by The Velvet Garden, it takes garden “I Do’s” to a whole new level. This is a true reflection of a day inspired by love and crafted by crazy talented vendors (ahem, Stefanie Cove and Yifat Oren, we’re looking at you). And anytime you add Gia Canali into that mix, we know before first peek it’s going to be on our favorite’s list. Let’s just say our theory holds true. SMP: Were you one to dream of wedding plans as a little girl?
Oh, of course!! Your Prince Charming coming to save you on a white unicorn?! What girl doesn’t love that?! Ha ha! I’ve always wanted to find the man of my dreams and you know what? What I always thought I wanted, I actually found.
SMP: Tell us about your Proposal.
Scott proposed to me in my closet! I think he got really nervous – his hands were shaking! And the best surprise was, he had my parents fly in from Kentucky. They were there sitting at the kitchen table ready to celebrate with us! It was perfect.
SMP: What was the inspiration for your wedding day look?
Marchesa (Georgina Chapman & Karen Perrin) made the most perfect, most beautiful gown! It was bohemian-chic and so elegant, and my wedding date and year were embroidered inside. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.
SMP: Did you have any special touches for your ceremony?
The wedding venue was perfect. We were so happy with the flow of everything. We got married by the weeping willows next to the pond.
Scott and I were standing on a Moroccan blanket and we had these amazing chandeliers hanging in the trees. And I always get asked, ‘why the Moroccan blanket?’ I wanted something I would be able to keep and take with me always.
SMP: Did you weave in any traditions or special tributes to your ceremony?
My uncle married us, which was so special and personal. We each lit a candle to remember our family members who have passed. I loved Elew (Eric Robert Lewis) playing piano under the willow trees. It was the perfect music for the ceremony.
More tidbits about those special touches: After the ceremony, guests walked on rose petals through the vineyard where they got their escort cards…they were hanging on clothespins tied between vineyard branches.
From Stefanie Cove… The whole event design was inspired by a sense “careful carelessness” in everything from the flowers to furniture to the perfectly mismatched bridesmaid dresses.
Molly wanted the event to feel magical from start to finish. For the ceremony, there was a perfect juxtaposition of weeping willows, hanging flower arrangements, a sparkly white Moroccan wedding blanket, and the black piano played by the incredibly talented rock-jazz pianist, ELEW.
White and ivory rose heads covered the 160 foot-long walkway that Molly came down for the ceremony and that guests walked up to the reception area. It was truly breathtaking.
