Prep Chic Registry Inspiration from Target + SMP

Oh, do we have a treat in store for you. A treat of the most delicious wedding variety. You see, we've been busy little bees behind the scenes playing the most fabulous game of hostess, and our partner in crime? None other than Target. Yes, ladies and gents, you read that right. Target has been really honing and perfecting their gorgeous Wedding Registry Program and has brought SMP along, behind the scenes, so that we can show you guys just how awesome it is. And we may have just coordinated a few sparkly takeaways for you to devour as well!

So if you've spent much time on Target's site, you know that not only do they partner with some of the greatest designers on the planet (we're talking to you Nate Berkus), but they also cater to so many different styles and personalities. Thus, we wanted develop a wedding registry for one of our editors that captured her incredibly unique spirit and the essence of her and hubby's style. A registry that felt fun and well-designed and yet would stand the test of time.

Okay, SMP-ers. Meet Abby & Andrew. Abby is the editor of our Local Weddings and one of the first and most beloved members of the SMP team.

Abby...she's bubbly and smart, full of fun and loves to entertain. She's prep to the max but adds a splash of glitter to everything in sight. Girls-only dinners at her house are a monthly staple, and she is constantly filling her home with simple but easy design ideas that she can change on a whim. She spends her free time running with her pup Otto — who makes a ton of cameos right here on Instagram — and baking up a storm.

Andrew...he's a dude's dude with a completely romantic side. He's always up for a good BBQ and a game of frisbee on the beach. He works hard, he plays hard, and having a space that he can totally relax in is his definition of home.

But first things first. We had Abby and Andrew scour Target's Wedding Catalog to find pieces that they both loved. Like really loved. That captured her preppy, but totally glittery, girly style AND her hubby's classic-meets-very-classic sensibilities. One of the main things that Abby & Andrew wanted to focus on was entertaining. Stocking up on versatile, effortless serving pieces that could be used for book club nights or more formal dinner parties. We chose pieces that had a sense of ease and that could be easily gussied up or kept simple depending on the need.
