This wedding is all about the beauty of nature – kind of the perfect way to celebrate May Day, don’t you think? With a mix of peonies, mint hues and lavender sprigs a plenty fashioned by Table Art, these details really set the scene for an elegant, ethereal feel just as the Bride had envisioned. And with images captured by Alison Conklin, those Bride-to-Be musings were brought to life in the form of beautifully photographed pictures. See them all right here.
From the Bride… I still can’t believe how magical the day was. I remember all of the details perfectly. Mike and I were elated all day and just kept asking each other if it was really happening. I felt, and still feel, like the luckiest girl to have had married my best friend that day. Mike is truly the kindest and most loving boy I know. I had no idea where to start planning for a wedding. Growing up, I was never the little girl who dreamed about her wedding day. I was out looking for frogs or playing street hockey with my brother and the neighborhood boys. I didn’t know where to even start the planning process, but it really came together and was surprisingly easy and stress-free. I went in to it open minded and excited, reminding myself what the day was about and not to get caught up in all of the wedding planning craziness!
I had no theme or particular color scheme in mind. I just went with what I love and wanted the details to reflect me as best as possible. I love nature, so I went with a lot of earthy tones and textures. I also knew I wanted to use wild flowers and incorporate herbs somehow. I wanted it to have a serene and ethereal feel. I explained what I had in mind to my florist (Christina from TableArt) and she literally made my vision a reality. She was wonderful. I loved everything from the moss on the tables to the sprigs of rosemary in my bouquet.
I never want to forget anything about my wedding day, and I know I never will thanks to the most amazing photos I have from Alison Conklin. She captured every moment perfectly and gracefully. Not only is she so talented but she is such a pleasure to work with. I can’t imagine the day without her. She was so calming and sweet, and just amazing! There was just so much love all around the whole day. Everything was perfect – the flowers, the music, the food. The best part by far was sharing all of those special moments with our families and friends.
