Palm Springs Wedding from Dandelion and Grey
Palm Springs will forever be a favorite destination. It's that magical combo of sunshine and glamour and still within reach for all you So Cal dwellers; lucky ducks! And from the looks of these images by Leila Brewster Photography, this wedding has that combo down pat. It's also boasting details by Fleuretica, Bourbon & Bloom Vintage Rentals (the Bride!) and Dandelion and Grey so, so pretty yet totally and completely personalized. For instance, each and every guest had a vintage post card from the Bride's own collection waiting at their seat totally customized to where they live. How cool is that? That trumps pretty in my book; but if a wedding happens to be filled with both, all the better. See all those pretty parts come to life right here in the full gallery.
From the Bride, owner of Bourbon & Bloom Vintage Rentals, Ashley Tinsley... I always envisioned our wedding day as one big party. Some of the best times of my life have been in attendance at the weddings of those close to me like my sister and best friends. That being said, we wanted the celebration of our marriage to have a fun, relaxed feel but the style should be classic and elegant. We also wanted both of our personalities & backgrounds represented in some way. Luckily for us, Erin McDonald of Dandelion and Grey is extremely talented and was able to streamline all of our ideas and flawlessly execute the perfect wedding for us!
It was extremely important to us that our family and friends know how much we appreciate their love and support throughout our relationship. We also wanted to show our gratitude to them for making the trip to our destination wedding. Therefore, one of the special touches that we did included a personal thank you note on the back of an antique post card at each person's seat with a box of donut holes wich served as the favors. Each post card was from a city, state or country that had a special meaning to that person, i.e. where they are from, a place they loved visiting or somewhere that we had enjoyed visiting with them. A lot of the post cards were from my own personal collection that I started when I was a kid. Doug and I dated long distance for the first two years of our relationship and we sent post cards to each other all the time. We loved the post card idea because it served a purpose and represented a precious part of our relationship. Another special touch that I think it worth mentioning is our twist on the tradition of tossing the bouquet. Instead of tossing flowers to the single ladies in attendance, we decided to give the bouquet to my grandparents, who have been married the longest of any couple there: 55 years. We wanted to recognize their amazing union and thank them for their contribution to our wedding and our lives.
Overall, the decor was unique and special to us because not only was I the bride, I was also the vintage rentals vendor. I own Bourbon & Bloom Vintage Rentals based in Houston, TX and it was such an enjoyable process putting the entire look together. Erin and I went over each specific area of the layout and she was critical to determining each everything from which furniture and accessories would look best in the lounge area to the way we displayed the seating chart. I am very indecisive so her expertise and opinion were a godsend! Doug and I built the farm tables that served as our head table, in addition to redoing the settee that was in our lounge area. We are so proud that we were able to create these pieces together and we will always treasure them because of that. Lastly, when we drove everything from Texas to CA for the wedding, Erin and Tracy Choy of The Bride Concierge (with the help of their wonderful husbands) accomplished a huge feat by unloading everything, putting the furniture together, styling it all and then repacked it all for us after the wedding was over! They were able to do all of that and still make sure the wedding went off without a hitch! I don't know what we would have done without them and I can honestly say they made our wedding even better than what we dreamed it would be!
There were SO many special moments! But overall the most special part about our wedding day was having our family and friends all together in one place while we enjoyed dancing the night away under the beautiful desert sky! It was the perfect night and I wish we could do it all over again!
