For as beautiful as Napa Valley is on its own, this wedding from James Moes Photography blows that beauty right out of the water. Woven into the backdrop of The French Laundry, is a day awash in pure romance. From green and lavender blooms by Flowers by Ivy to chandeliers strung from the treetops, get all the gorgeous details right here in the full gallery.
From the Bride…When Todd and I discussed what we wanted for our wedding, we narrowed it down to what mattered most for both of us: family, friends, food and fun! For both of us growing up, food is a huge part of our family gatherings and celebrations. With that in mind, we decided to go for a slightly non-traditional wedding and invited all our loved ones to an unforgettable dining experience at The French Laundry in Yountville, California.
We loved the fact that The French Laundry could only seat sixty guests, which made for an intimate evening. With such a small guest list, I was able to put my creative juices to work and had such a good time designing my Save the Dates and Invitation Suite with the help of Antiquaria who helped with the printing. The Save the Dates were stamped handkerchiefs wrapped with French Laundry clothespins as the first clue to where the wedding was to be held.
The French Laundry has such a great ambiance and charm which really helped set the tone for the rustic and relaxed wedding we wanted. I used cream, beige and grey tones with pops of our favorite colors teal and yellow. The French Laundry used to be a laundromat, so to continue with that theme, lavender was the perfect flower of choice for decor and lavender-filled sachets for guest favors. Todd is obsessed with coffee so we named the tables after our favorite coffee brewers. Todd’s first gift to me was a skeleton key from an old bank vault in Paris, so we attached each guests’ name tags to a skeleton key. And of course, our big day wouldn’t be complete without our babies, Rufus and Gremlin, as the ring bearer and flower girl.
I am lucky to be great friends with the talented May Tran from HelloBoos Event Styling and her mother, Ivy Vuong of Flowers by Ivy. With the help of Kiera Illusorio Garrone, the best day of coordinator, our big day was completely stress-free. Every detail was done perfectly. James Moes and The Cana Family Films did an extraordinary job capturing the mood of the entire day. The love of our friends and family and the extraordinary efforts of the entire French Laundry staff and our vendors truly made our wedding night an unforgettable one. We feel so blessed to have such great people be a part of our day and our lives.
