California Wedding from Mathieu Photography + Isari Flower Studio
I do love this wedding. It's full of beautiful blooms from Isari Flower Studio, palm trees and California sunshine, and a dress that is what dreams are made of. But the thing I love most aren't the fabulous bouquets or the poolside reception, it's the story of how these two lovebirds met (a must read). It's just so romantic and it makes every image from Mathieu Photography take on a whole new romantic meaning. And as soon as you've read up, make sure to check out the gallery to get the whole happiness factor.
From the beautiful bride ... Brian and I met out at Woody's Wharf, a classic Newport Beach bar, and it was only my second time out in that area which was funny considering I grew up there. I looked at him and felt like I had met him before. Later on that night I discovered that his sister and I were friends in college, however this happened to not only be the only strange coincidence. A few days before I went to visit my grandmothers grave in Corona del Mar. I asked her to give me a sign that I should move back to Orange County. To finish this story you have to know a little background on my grandma, she loved Newport Beach and had the most beautiful blue eyes (so beautiful that she was well known for them). It had been a few days when I walked into Woody's and met Brian with his big beautiful blue eyes, and he asked me out on date right away.... Grandma sent me a sign and it was a beautiful boy from Newport Beach. Needless to say I moved back to my hometown
Once Brian and I decided to get married, we decided on Condor’s Nest Ranch. It was the perfect match for Brian and my interests. I love American Indian culture, art, etc., and he is a huge fan of old cowboy movies. Condor’s Nest Ranch has a collection of nostalgic memorabilia from both of those groups and we loved that. Most of all we wanted to get married in what we consider our "church" - nature. Condor’s Nest Ranch was perfect nature for us because it has animals and tons of trees surrounding it.
We love vinyl and old music, and tradition and wanted to bring all those things together while still making people feel comfortable and ready for a good time. The ranch is so colorful on its own that we went with all whites and off whites and we loved the dark greens and dusty greens brought in with the flowers and the girls dresses. I wanted it to feel like a romance novel taking place in a forest!
We included American Indian prayers inspired by my ancestry and catholic prayers that represented Brian’s family. Each of the prayers and words spoken during the ceremony were meant to recognize that our love is a sacred one between the two of us, but yet still greater than the two of us and included our respect for our community and earth and our commitment to them and the greater good.
