Stories are what make my heart sing. I love to hear how two people go from strangers to lovebirds, and Kirra Cheers is my kindred spirit in that regard. Her images of these two soon to be Mr. & Mrs are beautiful, of course, but they are also taken on the street in Boston that started their love story – which has my heart singing the sweetest of songs. From Kirra Cheers… I like my photos to tell stories. I don’t believe in choosing photo locations simply because they are pretty or hip or worse because that is where everyone else gets their photos taken. Their has to be a story and a connection to the couple.
So when considering locations for their engagement shoot in Boston, I asked Shannon & Mike to consider places that meant something to them. The answer was so simple and beautiful. When they first met, Mike & Shannon lived in apartments directly across the street from one another, so I photographed them on the street where their love was born. We then took a stroll through the neighborhood to their favourite cafe and watched the sunset. It was such a nice afternoon and a wonderful opportunity to get to know Shannon & Mike.
From Boston to Byron, a winter wonderland to a summer paradise – I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in Byron and capture the next chapter of their journey together.
