Fort Collins, Colorado Elopement from Danielle DeFiore

Elopements this pretty are my everything. Because at first glance, the beautiful images from Danielle DeFiore make it feel like it was the grandest of affairs. With a stylish nod to this couples’ love for the bike culture throughout, and a sophisticated yet laid back vibe – it has all the makings for a biggest of bashes. But it’s just that much better knowing that it was pulled together with the help of their family and friends, and was as intimate (and as beautiful) as they come. See it all here.

From Danielle DeFioreLacy and Austin came to Fort Collins from Washington DC for a holiday with family.  About a month before arriving, they surprised their loved ones with the news that they were planning to elope just days before the New Year! Extended family and friends rushed in from all over the states to help them celebrate.

Their wedding was amazing from start to finish. The couple began the day with getting ready at the historic Armstrong Hotel in downtown Fort Collins. Lacy’s delicate lace dress looked stunning on her and Austin’s bright green suspenders complimented the colors of the day perfectly. The couple loves bikes culture so they decked out the ceremony with old tandem and cruisers bikes!

An intimate slow first dance was shared on the balcony where the two were married followed by a send off in style with sparklers and Dream Team pedicabs who picked them up at the end of the evening carrying them back to the honeymoon suite at the Armstrong.

From the Bride…From the moment I said “let’s elope to Colorado over the holidays” I knew it was the perfect decision for us. I wasn’t sure if our families would go for it, but I was so overwhelmed by their support and love.  With our family getting together for Christmas in Fort. Collins, CO, I knew this would be the perfect place to celebrate our marriage.

We had amazing support from family and friends in planning our day.  The centerpieces were created by a local florist and my sister hand drew all the beautiful calligraphy place cards. We were so fortunate to have family make all of the arrangements  so Austin and I could enjoy the festivities when we arrived to town.

Austin and I love the bike culture so one of the biggest treats our family planned for us was the surprise pedicab send off!  Some of the heirlooms we included in our day was Austin’s grandmothers’ fur coat and a dear friends’ pearls from her own wedding.

One of my favorite parts of our wedding was the ceremony where almost everyone cried, when the best man played “The Wedding Song” on his guitar and we vowed to “love, cherish and snuggled” for the rest of our lives.

The special touches of the day will never be erased from my mind. Not to mention that it snowed the day before the wedding making it the winter wedding I had always dreamed of. In the end it was us, our families and a couple of pretty sweet bikes.
