St. Helena Wedding from Elle Jae Weddings

I'm a garden girl. I love flowers. Bouquets with 12 different stems are my cup of tea. So garden weddings are my favorite. And the wedding you're about to see? Well, let's just say it's the garden wedding. The garden wedding to top all. With photography from Elle Jae Weddings, this might just be my favorite day of the month. Want to see why? Click here.

From the beautiful bride ... Our wedding in St. Helena, just over an hour away from our home in SF, was everything we had dreamed of and more! We wanted our wedding to be intimate, not overly showy, and with lots of personal touches. We spent several months planning and are grateful that the details came together perfectly. Eric took over the business details of the wedding and let me run with creative elements.

The venue was breathtaking with the amazing garden in full bloom dotted with beautiful hydrangeas and overlooking cascading vineyards. The pastel toned flower arrangements that Polly prepared for us complemented it perfectly. We wanted to keep the overall color scheme natural with a mix of soft colors but with a cobalt blue accent to brighten things up a bit.

We added handmade personal touches throughout the venue. Eric loves board games, so I designed, cut and assembled wooden name card holders that resembled game pieces from twelve of our favorite games. They held our simple yet elegant name cards designed by our dear friend. It was so fun to see our guests trying to guess which board games the pieces represented and trading them with each other. And we both love pies so we skipped the traditional cake in favor of an assortment of pies from a nearby bakery.

We kept our wedding small with our family and closest friends from school; the 110 guest size wedding was perfect to have a party while keeping an intimate feel for the reception. Good food, good company, beautiful venue, and marrying the love of my life - it was a perfect day!
