I am telling you, I absolutely adore elopements. I’ve probably said it a million times, but, to me, you can’t get more romantic than running off with your nearest and dearest to say I do. This couple did just that, topped it off with a sweet picnic and made sure they had Day 7 Photography following in their footsteps to catch all the timeless memories -and all that adorableness is waiting for you right here.
From Day 7 Photography… I’m thrilled to share this elopement from Austin, Texas that was taken on top of a parking garage. Brooke told me that she trusted me with whatever I threw at her, and so I got together with my stylist friend, Nita Teng, who helped put together a mini-reception for Brooke and Ryan. We asked Brooke and Ryan what their favorite thing to do together was, what some of their favorite music is, their idea of a romantic date, and what type of food they liked. The answers we got helped us to formulate an idea of how to style the reception. They like indie music, eating any food that resembles modern america, and for a romantic date, it could be anything as long as it’s not forced or cheesy.
From the Bride… After two months of stressful wedding planning, Ryan and I knew an elopement was right for us. We felt a small intimate ceremony reflected our personalities perfectly. We really love each other, but we’re also very private! Austin was the obvious choice, it’s the city where we fell in love and has a rare combination of Texas charm and eclectic personalities. Our ceremony and picnic reflects everything we love about Austin – unique, with a Texas flair.
I knew I wanted our photographs to look timeless, where you couldn’t really guess which decade they came from. I thought of everything myself, and we scoured Austin that morning for the perfect pink roses! There was no plan, we just did what made us happy.
