I’m going bold with this one, but it’s only because it’s true. This wedding, with its lane of beautiful, blooming trees is superb. One of the most amazing, heaven-on-earth kinds of soirees. Julie Mikos – Photographer captured the stunning day in a way which feels like happiness embodied. Warm, beautiful, and with a gallery of which we just can’t get enough.
From the photographer … Erin and Justin’s Lawrence, Kansas wedding was held at Stony Point Hall, a rustic outdoor venue ripe with fields in bloom and a distressed barn that made the perfect backdrop for Erin and Justin’s intimate vows. Said the bride, Erin, “Justin and I really wanted the entire day to be relaxed. We also wanted to ensure the day was reflective of us as a couple — nature and family-oriented, and a little bit quirky. We agreed on colors immediately — fresh and bright greens, oranges and purples. The bolder, the better.”
Erin and Justin’s entire wedding was a labor of love, each detail handcrafted and representative of the couple’s relationship. Erin said, “We used old wine bottles we’d saved from wine we’d drank throughout our relationship as table numbers. On the backs of each bottle was a label with a random fact about us and our relationship, so guests could go around the room and learn 24 new things about us. With the help of some family and friends we stitched over a hundred fabric flowers that were wired into the flower arrangements. We served signature cocktails with an Irish flair — Justin’s Irish Buck, a whiskey drink, and Erin-Go Braghda Tonic, a vodka cocktail. We made packets of color sheets and word games, and set out crayons for all the children at the wedding. In lieu of a guestbook, we made advice books for each table. They included prompts such as ‘advice for resolving arguments,’ ‘suggestions for date night,’ ‘names for future children or pets,’ and ‘activities we should add to our bucket list.'”
