Newport is a place near and dear to my heart. It’s just a hop, skip and a jump away from the place I call home so I often find myself hopping, skipping and jumping to the gorgeous city on the sea as often as humanly possible. The reason? It’s drop dead gorgeous, and has that coastal east coast charm that simply can’t be beat. So my heart does a little happy dance when I come across a wedding that virtually transports me to that fabulous place, particularly when it’s done in such a stylish fashion like this wedding captured at Rebecca Hansen Weddings at the always stunning Belle Mer. It’s perfectly Newport, and perfectly, well perfect – and you can take a little virtual trip to that pretty little place right here.
From Rebecca Hansen Weddings… Megan and Brian had a perfect Newport, RI wedding. It was held at the Belle Mer which is right on the water. Megan and Brian wanted to see each other in a small garden before the ceremony and do a first look and wander around Newport. After pictures the wedding party was taken to the Belle Mer on a trolley. The ceremony backdrop was the beautiful Newport bridge and harbor. Guests were given lemonade and programs as they arrived for the ceremony. The reception was airy and beautiful. Guests were served a traditional New England seafood dinner which was followed by dancing into the evening. The bride and groom made sea salt favors for all of their guests, and guests signed a map of Newport which served as their guestbook. They also provided flip flops tied with wedding colors for guests with tired dancing feet.
