South Carolina Wedding from Virgil Bunao

Handmade weddings are always some of the very best. There’s a certain richness and soul that runs deep in weddings crafted from the heart, and that’s exactly what this backyard affair is all about. A labor of love in every sense, this DIY day proved that “budget” and “beautiful” are most definitely possible. Virgil Bunao’s photos tell a story that’s so, so sweet, and you can see it from beginning to end right here.

From Virgil BunaoChristin and Strait’s wedding was a Do-It-Yourself wedding. Christin and Strait are folks that would like to make things with their hands. They are do it yourself kind of people.  I don’t know of a thing that they couldn’t make or do. They did not have a big budget to work with but they wanted to celebrate their wedding by just doing what they can and can afford.  They held the ceremony and reception at their home. Their home looked like one of those log cabins you stay at in the mountains of North Carolina.  Strait and his friends built most of the benches and tables weeks leading up to the wedding.  They also worked on the landscaping around the venue to make sure it looked pristine and beautiful. Christin’s mother owns a cute antique shop in Hendersonville and most of the centerpieces and outdoor decor came from her shop.
