Santa Ynez Gainey Vineyard Wedding from Christine Farah Photography

For two cuties who spend their fair share of time wine tasting and sun soaking in the Santa Ynez Valley, it was almost a foregone conclusion that they would say "I do" in the very spot they spent so many fabulous weekends.  Also a foregone conclusion?  Their wedding would totally blow their guests away with beautiful florals from Passion Flowers Design, a sweet rustic vibe and personal touches that were so them. (Read: finger food desserts and Texas brewed beer.)  Christine Farah Photography snapped up every moment and it's a love-fest that can't be missed.  See it all here.

From the Bride... Scott and I envisioned our big day in a place that was naturally beautiful but had some style, and where we felt relaxed. Since moving to California together (back to California for Scott, first time for me), we’ve enjoyed weekend getaways wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley. Gainey had been our favorite spot to visit and once we booked it as our wedding venue, the rest fell into place. We went with the rustic chic theme the location naturally provided and were extremely lucky to have amazing vendors. From the jug of sangria and Texas-brewed beer to the finger-food dessert feast, each of our vendors was able to accommodate our unique requests. We also had fun taking on some of the details ourselves! Scott’s mom and dad made their famous jam for the place cards/giveaways and many friends and family volunteered to get crafty with signage and other details.

Much of the style inspiration came from wedding blogs (SMP!) and simply our favorite things. Because this was a destination wedding for most (I’m from Dallas and Scott is from northern California) we wanted to ensure we not only hosted an amazing wedding reception, but that we had other events for guests throughout the weekend. We kicked off the weekend with an al fresco welcome party full of margaritas and Mexican fare at a local Santa Ynez restaurant. Then, after the wedding reception we packed into shuttles and headed down the street to the local dive bar/saloon for beers and two-stepping.

A couple of our favorite memories are standing together during the ceremony taking a moment to look at all of the lovely people supporting us and at the end of the reception when all guests were on the dance floor chanting 'one more song’ to entice our unbelievable band for a final jam. Overall, the weekend and especially the wedding were better than either of us could have envisioned or imagined. The number one reason we were so elated was because all of our VIPs were together and excited to share in our joy and love.
