Call me a major wedding nerd, but just as soon as I saw this Santa Barbara beauty, I knew today was going to be a good day. Not just because of the hot pink palette, the Kate Spade glitter pumps, or even the ombre petals trailing down the aisle, but because Joy de Vivre made sure the entire day was rustic glam done so, so right. White Haute Photography caught the the most stunning gallery of images a girl could hope for and Enjet Media filmed it all to perfection.

From the Bride…When planning our wedding, we knew from the beginning that the entire party had to be outside. We envisioned getting married in a beautiful field surrounded by wild grass and mountains and we wanted to see our guests dancing under the stars until the wee hours. We love to entertain and throw parties, but we truly wanted this to be a party to remember with unique details, excellent food, and spectacular entertainment. When we found the Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse, we knew it was the perfect venue for what turned out to be a truly magical day.
I’m a very hands on bride who likes to have a say in absolutely every decision; Joy Proctor and Kristin Ramsey of Joy de Vivre really did a fantastic job of guiding me through the planning process. They focused our vision and recommended many of our fantastic vendors. Our vision was “rustic glam”; we really wanted the party to feel elegant amidst the backdrop of the very rustic farmhouse and surroundings. We hired Camille Panzarello of Modern Day Design to do our florals and everything was absolutely stunning. I practically wept when she handed over my bouquet on the big day.
To go with our rustic glam look, I wore an elegant simple silk taffeta gown by Amsale and dressed it up with a vintage rhinestone necklace handcrafted by Madame Mathilde and a simple floor length veil from JCrew. My sparkly heels were from Kate Spade and my pink ballerina slippers were from BHLDN. Justin, the groomsmen, and all of the bridesmaids wore JCrew (my favorite store). As a bridesmaid gift, I gave all of the girl’s sparkly jewelry to coordinate with mine and had everyone’s hair and makeup done by TEAM hair and makeup. Everyone looked amazing.
Our ceremony was my favorite part of the whole day. I walked down the aisle with my father to Pricilla Ahn’s “Dream”. Justin and I wrote our own ceremony and vows and my godfather officiated. We wrote private love letters to each other and nailed them in a box during the ceremony. We will open the box and read the letters on our first anniversary. I didn’t realize until after that everyone stood through our entire ceremony. It felt very intimate in that great big field under the open sky.
We also hired a fantastic musician, Kevin Miso, to entertain our guests during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. Justin and I had seen him play at local venues down in Orange County, where we live, and were so impressed with his talent that we asked him to play at our wedding. His beachy acoustic rock vibe really set the relaxed tone. Our guests kept coming up to me all night telling me how amazing he was. He even learned and played our first song for us, “You and Me” by Cecilio and Kapono. After Kevin’s performance, Bennett Schmid, our favorite DJ, got everyone on the dance floor and kept them there until just after midnight.
Our food was catered by the incomparable Duo Events and Catering and all of the beautiful desserts were provided by Enjoy Cupcakes. Ventura Rentals provided all of the lovely tables, seating, and dinnerware. Linens were provided by La Tavola and lighting was set by Bella Vista Designs. Justin and I handcrafted our invitations and other paper goods with the help of our calligrapher, Hillary Smazenko, who I found on Etsy. Finally, our photographers, Chris and Erinn from White Haute Photography, and our videographers, Matt and Tiffany from Enjet Media, were an absolute pleasure to work with and did an outstanding job capturing all of our memories.
