High Falls New York Wedding from Hudson River Photographer

As a girl who got married in a barn almost four years ago, weddings like this are the ones that I hold closest to my heart. A hot summer day, a sweet color palette, flowers that look like they were picked 10 minutes before the ceremony, and a party in the stables. In my humble opinion, there is nothing better. Hudson River Photographer captured this stunning soiree and filled a gallery with images as sweet as the honey favors. See you there?

From the beautiful bride ... Growing up in Queens, Mike and I have been to about a million weddings. All of them similar in style - in a very fancy catering hall with a large ice sculpture of two swans forming a heart and someone handing you a napkin in the restroom. Although we had a blast at these weddings, we wanted something different. Neither we nor anyone in either family have been to a wedding held in a barn. Mike and I loved the style of a barn wedding. It was that or an elopement.

We wanted something very simple but elegant. Cream and green were the wedding colors because they reminded us of being outdoors and felt it suited this particular venue. We didn't really have an overall picture of what the wedding would turn into, but everything seemed to fall into place.

Although the day itself went by fairly quickly, a few things really stick out in our memories: 1. It was HOT! The wedding took place smack in the middle of a heat wave. 2. Our ceremony was perfect - short and sweet. 3. Even though some things didn't go as planned, it was too hot to really care. 4. We really enjoyed staying at The Sheeley House, a historic 19th century stone bed and breakfast across the street from the barn on our wedding weekend. We spent a lot of time with friends and family and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves right across from the venue. As for the photos, they came out better than we could have imagined. I really fell in love with a lot of the photos.
