From Luminaire Images... The day that Lockell and Chris wed, it was face-meltingly hot outside - 98 sweaty, sunny, humid degrees in Los Angeles by noon. The bride and groom were completely non-plussed, and by the end of the day they had happily toasted with their friends in the air conditioned indoors, posed for photos in the sunshine, talked and laughed with their guests in the shade, and partied mightily into the warm evening. One of my favorite moments during this wedding was after the couple cut the cake, Chris scooped the first bite into his own mouth, oblivious of the custom that he is expected to feed his partner first! The look on his face when everybody jumped in to alert him to his misstep! He and Lockell had a good laugh about it, which made for a cute photo sequence.

For their venue, the couple selected a 1906 Los Angeles historic building once used to house high-voltage electrical equipment for the railways, now converted into an event and filming location. In keeping with the train theme, Luminaire Images photographed Lockell and Chris' engagement session at Los Angeles Union Station, and on the wedding day took the wedding party to a nearby outdoor train museum for photos. Lockell and Chris also incorporated custom train station designs into their paper goods and centerpieces, created a unique guest gift-card box that resembled a train ticket stamper, and devised a citrus-y yellow and orange color palette for all of it. Lockell even gifted Chris with some classic “train token” cufflinks! No detail was overlooked and the result was a gorgeous brightly-colored affair with a little retro train station flair!
