Kangaroo Valley Wedding from Magnus Agren
From Magnus Agren... Australian actor Luke Mitchell is used to being in the spotlight. But on the 5th of January 2013 as he stood upon a wooden platform surrounded by a sandstone Cathedral, you could have sworn he had an aura of nervous excitement surrounding him, as all men do on their wedding day. His co-star Rebecca Breeds was his stunning bride.
The couple chose the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat as the location for their intimate wedding. Surrounded by only the closet family and friends, the couple spent a weekend of celebration, much of it spent in the pool under the gum trees, escaping the heat. And I was lucky enough to get to shoot their special day. Rebecca Breeds has always dreamt of her own ‘Love Story’ and so it seemed fitting that prior to walking down the aisle, both the wedding guests and the bridal party wandered down a bush track sign posted with what love meant to this couple. It was fantastic to see Rebecca’s grandmothers who both traveled out from England for the big day, survived both the heat and the challenging bush track to support Rebecca on her wedding day.
Luke’s groomsmen, his father, step father and three brothers stayed cool by the pool with a few coronas until they jumped into their suits at the last minute to partner Rebecca’s bridesmaids, her cousin and four best friends. The girls wore knee length dresses with matching jewel embellished heels from Forever New. Rebecca’s ethereal gown was designed by Steven Khalil, partnered with a flower garland from ‘The Sisters’ at Engadine Florist. The couple signed the registry to an acoustic set from Sydney based singer songwriter Caitlin Harnett, followed by pre dinner drinks and canapes upon the deck overlooking the stunning Shoalhaven Gorge. Rebeccas childhood love of horses was included in the wedding with Riverstone & Hallelujah Stud providing Cerocco and Muffin for the photo shoot.
The reception maintianed the intimate feel with dishes served in the middle of each table, reminiscint of family feasts. The Kangaroo with Horseradish cream was a standout! Following the heartfelt speeches and cutting of the cake was dancing on the lawn, under the paper lanterns, and stars higher above.
