Southern flair and authentic Indian traditions in sunny California means candied pecans and saris all under that fabulous sunshine. Plus a stunning floral design from Bride and Bloom Wedding Flowers and breathtaking images from Tyler Branch Photo. That is this wedding. All of that and more. It’s a gallery full of pinch-me-now moments, and it’s all right here!
From the floral designer … Kendra and Neal’s wedding was a of mix Neal’s Indian traditions and Kendra’s Southern flair (she is originally from Texas). Kendra embraced a hummingbird theme for the event and created origami hummingbirds out of vintage Reader’s Digest pages. Miniature origami hummingbirds were placed at ever single place setting. Kendra asked Amy from Bride and Bloom Flowers to create the perfect centerpieces and ceremony decor. They used vases, jars, and white milk glass to get the vintage look that Kendra loved. Kendra used vintage Encyclopedia of Science that she had been collecting and used the pages in them as place mats because she loved the illustrations on them! Kendra even made a special recipe from her grandmother to create guest gifts as a way of keeping her grandmother’s spirit with her. Kendra said:
“The thought of my grandmother not physically being at the wedding was very sad, so I wanted to make sure that we honored her in some special way. She was known for her amazing southern cooking. Each guest was gifted jars of her candied pecans and her bread and butter pickles. My husband made most of these on his own for me, he’s such a trooper!”
