I’m a sucker for high school sweethearts, and these two are the sweetest. They met over homemade cookies and pies and fell in love over roasted ‘mallows, all at her grandmother’s country home. It doesn’t get much cuter than that. Therese Marie Wagner Photography was the lucky lady to capture the adorable love between these two, and she’s filled a gallery with sweet details from the day. From the beautiful bride … I guess I could paraphrase an old song and say “How you Gonna keep ‘em in Parie after they’ve seen life on the Farm”?
I was introduced to Ken at Grandmother’s house. She loved to have company at her house in the country. It was a frequent gathering place for all of my high school friends. (We didn’t have cell phones and Facebook to keep in touch.) Our chatting and socializing often took place at “Grandma’s house.” My friends loved the cooking smells coming from kitchen and knew in the fall and winter there were always home made cookies and pies stored up on her porch for guests.
One evening Ken dropped in with a mutual friend who had come over for the evening, and we were introduced. Over our high school years we became good friends… and over time the cookies and pies with friends became hot dogs and marshmallows roasted over bon fires in the “back forty.” After dating in high school we each went our separate ways, but always remained close friends. Over time we both realized that cocktails and dinner without each other was not the “Paris” we were looking for, and that it was being with each other that really counted. My grandmother passed shortly after we were married, but I can still hear her say “He’s a good catch, don’t let him get away”.
