Chicago Museum Wedding from Becky Hill Photography + LK Events

One look at that lace cake. That’s all it takes to fall in love with this wedding from LK Events. And to fall in love with the wedding is to fall in love with the couple, because they are even more perfect than that fab cake. Captured by Becky Hill Photography, the gallery is one that will keep you in awe from the beginning all the way through (and maybe through a second look or two…). Click here to see it!

John and I knew from the start that we wanted a Chicago wedding. Since we are both from the same home town in St. Charles, Illinois, this may have been a surprise to our family and friends, however, we were really looking for an experience for our guests and to have our special day in our favorite city!

There are so many incredible reception locations in the city and we had a blast doing all of the research and tours, but we knew The Chicago History Museum was it the moment we walked into the space. John and I envisioned a classic and elegant evening that reflected our personalities, and the Chicago History Museum was perfect for that. We fell in love with the beautiful chandelier in the Robinson Gallery, the history surrounding the space, the beautiful and elegant Chicago Room with black and white tile, and the stunning outdoor plaza. Plus, with so many out of town guests, it was the perfect location to show off the city that we both love!

We were so fortunate to have Lauren with LK Events keep us organized along the way and introduce us to some of the best vendors in Chicago. Being in the event planning industry myself, choosing a theme for my wedding was much more challenging than I thought – I just loved everything! Our vendors did an amazing job taking our vision of a summery, elegant, and classic wedding and making it a reality. Our colors were cream, blues, and pale pink which we incorporated in my favorite part, the flowers and décor!

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we are so thankful! The weather couldn’t have been better and all of the details fell into place just the way we envisioned. The highlight for me was walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing John for the first time that day in front of all of the people we love so much. Father Manny, at St. Clement Church, lead a beautiful and personal ceremony and pronounced us husband and wife, a moment we will never forget!

The wedding day was flawless from start to finish. After the ceremony, our guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the outdoor plaza of the museum while listening to music from John Sabal, a guitarist from Stitely Entertainment. They were then escorted to the Chicago Room for dinner in which the tables were assigned with classic Chicago inspired name cards. After a fabulous meal by Food for Thought catering, our guests enjoyed dancing and getting their photos taken at the photo booth. The night was topped off with Lou Malnati’s pizza and Chicago style hot-dogs!

We couldn’t have wished for a better wedding day and we thank our parents for making it possible. We were so happy to be able to share our love and commitment for one another with all of our loved ones. Our bridal party consisted of our family and best friends that mean the world to us! We are so glad we have the photos from Becky Hill and video from Keith at Poetic Productions so we can re-live the day and cherish the memories forever.
