Los Angeles Country Club Wedding from Platinum Weddings by Kerrie
From the bride... I wanted our wedding to be very personal, intimate and romantic. We wanted our wedding to be unique to us and to our relationship. We did not want a generic wedding where you could just insert any bride and groom into and it would work. We went for a natural, soft and airy look.
We chose The Los Angeles Country Club for many reasons. 1) We fell in love with the idea of having our ceremony under a beautiful patch of giant pine trees. Growing up, my sisters and I went on several Easter Egg Hunts in those pine trees. And, James grew up in Northern California surrounded by hundreds of acres of trees and nature so it was very fitting for him to be married outside surrounded by nature. The second we walked into those beautiful pines we knew we had found the perfect place! And, no one had ever been married there before. 2) My grandparents had their wedding at The Los Angeles Country Club and my grandfather's memorial service was there as well. 3) We liked that many of our guests had never been to The Los Angeles Country Club before and that there are not many weddings held there each year since only members of the club can host a wedding. It is a private and exclusive club, which made us feel like it was not a typical
Our ceremony was held in a beautiful patch of tall pine trees off the North Course- Second Hole of the Los Angeles Country Club. The ceremony setting was peaceful, ethereal and romantic. We were surrounded by the beauty and smell of nature. Many guests commented that you would never believe that this existed in the middle of Beverly Hills! Both the groom/groomsmen and the bride/bridesmaids were transported to the ceremony in my Uncle's vintage military truck, which was very fun and an unexpected surprise for the guests. At the ceremony, we did an Irish Hand Binding, which was special as my family is Irish and the Irish Blessing that was read was a favorite of both my grandfather and grandmother who have passed away. We also wrote our own personal vows that we said to one another before we did our formal vows.
