Toronto Wedding from One Fine Day, Joseph + Jaime Photography

This Bride? She's SMP through and through. And she figured out and followed the golden rule (or one of our favorite rules) of wedding planning super quick - and that's hire people you trust and the rest will fall into place (with so much less stress). Her Miller Lash House wedding is the perfect example of how that theory never fails. Because with the help of One Fine Day and Coriander Girl this wedding couldn't be prettier if it tried, and thanks to Joseph + Jaime Photography we get to reap the rewards. See it all here.

From the Bride... A few weeks into our engagement, my husband Paul remarked that he was surprised that I didn’t seem to have any ideas of what I wanted our wedding to be like – we had dated for seven years before we were engaged and he had (wrongly) thought I had been filing away ideas over the years. Truth was, my daydreams had been about marrying Paul, not the wedding itself. In retrospect, that was such a nice way to plan our wedding as we developed our ideas together based on the things that were most important to both of us.

Unlike my dress shopping which couldn’t have been easier thanks to Kelly and the unique inventory at MRS. Bridal Boutique, we spent months trying to find a venue in Toronto that had a beautiful outdoor space and a natural elegance to it. My sister had read about Miller Lash House on Style Me Pretty and suggested we go to see it. The venue was fully booked for every Saturday for the whole summer but there were a few Friday’s left and so we reluctantly went to have a look. We instantly loved it and as luck would have it, a Saturday opened up on July 7th, my late grandmother’s birthday – it was meant to be! Despite a rainy start, we ended up with a beautiful sunny day, perfect for our outdoor ceremony, Pimm’s cocktails under a big tree and dinner and dancing underneath the beautiful tent.

So we wouldn’t need to worry about all of the little details, we focused on finding talented people whose taste we trusted. Paul had previously bought me flowers from Coriander Girl on several occasions and I always loved them, so working with Alison was an easy choice (and super fun). We showed her all of five photos, told her we were into white and peach, and then just let her loose; the results were amazing! Alison had been married the previous summer and had gorgeously candid wedding photos that we absolutely loved which lead us to her photographers – Joseph and Jaime. Again, the results were more than we could have imagined, plus we had so much fun with them on the day. Picking a caterer was another easy choice, but deciding on our menu wasn’t – that said, working through all the options with multiple tastings was definitely not a chore! Our guests raved about how delicious the food was. Robyn at Daniel et Daniel really went above and beyond to find the perfect menu and execute it brilliantly. Lastly, Paul and I love to dance. We dance all the time, just the two of us, alone in our apartment. Thanks to Brett at Maximum Music, one of our wedding highlights was a packed dance floor all night long – it was the best.
