I don’t often break out into my wedding blogger happy dance, but when one this crazy gorgeous comes along, exceptions must be made. From the pink-on-pink floral design to the take-your-breath-away tablescape, Lovely Little Details managed to design a day that sparkled from start to finish. Vero Suh Photography worked her magic behind the camera, and there’s even more pretty to peruse right here!
From Vero Suh Photography: Jessica and Matt chose Barndiva in Healdsburg to celebrate their nuptial with their closest friends and family. Jessica’s incredible eye for design and DIY details made this wedding an absolute stunner, not to mention her drop dead gorgeous Lazaro dress!
From the Bride: Matt and I met in college, in the spring of 2003 in San Diego, California. We met in Psychology class and after a few study sessions, we were inseparable. But as young couples sometimes do, we went our separate ways, but remained friends throughout the years. After college, I took a job in Orange County and Matt moved back to San Francisco. About 5 years later, during a visit back home (as fate would have it, we are both from the San Francisco Bay Area), Matt and I reconnected. After the first night, I was smitten! I “missed” my flight a couple days later, not ready to part ways again. After 6 months of long distance, Matt made the move down south to be with me. The rest is history: we moved back home about a year later and bought a house together in my hometown the next.
Matt proposed shortly after buying our first home together. It was an absolute dream! He planned the entire day out. First taking me to a fabulous brunch and couples massage at Solage in Napa Valley. Afterwards, he had arranged a private wine tasting for us at Hans Fahden. When we arrived, I was directed to a picnic table overlooking the Calistoga canyon, as Matt went back to the car to retrieve a picnic he had prepared himself! Before we could even begin, Matt dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was beyond perfect!
As my shock and tears began to settle, the owner of Hans Fahden walked over and handed me a card. The card was from Matt and was yet another surprise he had in store for us that day. Matt had planned a trip for us to Puerto Rico to celebrate our engagement! When we returned from our amazing vacation, we set a date and began planning our wedding. Venue searching for us was the hardest part. Not out of lack of options, as we live in a beautiful area surrounded by wineries and other gorgeous venues, but finding something that fit ‘us.’ We finally settled on the perfect place in Healdsburg, my hometown, at Barndiva. The venue was the perfect mix of vintage, chic, and elegance.
I had vision as we began planning and designing the wedding. We were grateful our venue saw this through and allowed us to bring in our own personal touches. We hung chandeliers in the ceremony area and over the dinner trellis. We also made our own draping, building a ceremony arch and lovely curtains for the dinner area. The blush pinks, grays, whites and touches of sparkle came together perfectly. With the amazing help of Jacin from Lovely Little Details, our vision truly came together. How I loved all the long nights of planning with her! Jacin put together the gorgeous tablescapes, with her beautiful florals, mercury votives and vases, and white lanterns. When I walked out to the dinner area after the ceremony, I literally gasped out loud in amazement! I am so grateful for everything she did and how beautifully Vero captured it all for us! The day and night were nothing short of perfect. It was so surreal for Matt and I to look out over dinner at all of our closest friends and family together in one place and here, celebrating us. We felt truly lucky!
